WW2 U.S. Bangalore torpedo connector

This is a mint condition WW2 U.S. Bangalore torpedo connection piece.
The Bangalore torpedo was a metal tube section filled with explosives.
One section was about 1,5 meters long and several sections could be connected with help of this part.
In the movie “Saving private Ryan” the bangalore torpedo  can be seen in use in the first 30 minutes of the movie to blow a hole in the barbed wire obstacles on Omaha beach.

In the “GI collectors guide Vol. 2” on  page 160 you can see the crate were the Bangalores were stored in, together with these connectors and end caps.

A very rare engineer / demolition item!
