WW2 German machinegun ammo box

This is a nice original WW2 German ammo box to for the MG34 or MG42.
Box still has most of its original colour and is made of aluminium.
Probably for the fact that it is much lighter then steel.
Collectors who had their main focus on German items always told me that the aluminium versions were used by the German paratroopers.

The closure clip is a part missing, but further the box is in great shape.
Beneath the handle there is a painted “40” and if you look very good the metal is also stamped with “748 / 1940”
