WW2 U.S. BAR bipod

This is a U.S. WW2 Browning Automatic Rifle bipod.
These were used to give the shooter more stability when shooting the gun.
Some gunners removed the bipod, because it added weight to the all ready not light rifle.

The legs of the bipod can be extracted when it was folded out to be used.

These were found in a storage and were well greased.

Mentioned in “GI collectors guide volume 1” on page 97 were the bipod is attached to the B.A.R. in folded position.
