WW2 Dutch egg hand grenade

Did not know what this was for a long time and was one of the first items I had in my collection when I started back in the late 80’s.
Bought it with a small group of U.S. items from a non-collector.
Because it came with U.S. items, I always thought this was also something U.S.

A few years back a collector visited me and noticed it and told me that this is a WW2 Dutch No.3 egg hand grenade.
He was stunned by the condition, because it has it original paint still on it and no rust.
Only marking on it is a ink stamp with No. 40.
It appears that this is the production date.

Grenade is complete empty and in perfect condition, except for a little dent in the side!
