WW2 British pilots battle dress blouse

This battle dress blouse has been in my collection for a very long time.
In my early collecting years I got the change to acquire it from a good friend who got it directly from the veteran it has belonged to.

An unusual combination with the badges that are mounted on the blouse, but the story with it was that the veteran was trained to flight airplanes.
He was one of the pilots that flew to Arnhem to drop the troops or equipment.

Normally the RAF has blue colored battle dress blouses, but he was transferred from Army to RAF because of shortage of pilots for the Arnhem run.
He only got his wings and stripes and was allowed to mount them on his army battle dress blouse.

Sorry, I don’t have a name from the veteran and can’t ask my friend anymore, because I lost contact with him after he moved to an other country.

The battle dress blouse it self is a 1937 pattern in very good condition.
Label is still present, but unreadable.
There is an ink stamp that reads “P  W(broad arrow)D 110”

Above the left breast pocket is the pilot wings mounted.
On both sleeves there are worsted cloth chevrons added with a metal crown above.
In the army this represented a Staff Sergeant.
Because the chevrons have the RAF blue color, they represented the rank of Flight Sergeant.

Very nice battle dress blouse!
